KIEV MAPS

IDENTITY OF THE RESISTANCE

A map is not neutral. To draw a city under attack is to insist on its existence. In 2022, we made 300 drawings from historical maps of Kyiv — the city center, the bend of the Dnieper, the grid of streets crossing the river. Each drawing was given to a business or institution that supports Ukraine.

To draw a city is to name it. To repeat that drawing three hundred times is to insist, with the precision of design, that the city remains — that its geometry is known, documented, and not surrendered. These are not illustrations. They are an identity of the resistance.
